Stephen Curry Leads Warriors Past Rockets with Epic Buzzer Beater

Stephen Curry is no stranger to setting new milestones with the Golden State Warriors, and he celebrated another one on Friday. He led the Warriors past the Houston Rockets with the first game-winning buzzer-beater of his career. Curry was, once again, the top scorer for the Warriors and he finished the game with 22 points. His last shot was the most impressive one, and he sent the crowd into the frenzy when the clock hit 0.00 and the buzzer blared, as his ball went through the net and secured a 105-103 win for the Warriors. “The way the whole last 48 hours have been with the way we played grinding out last night, going overtime, losing, the disappointment with that and then coming into this game, the back and forth, just grind-it-out mentality we had, the resilience we showed to give ourselves a chance the second half was impressive,” said Curry after the game. This shot was especially cathartic for Curry since it came after he missed two 3-pointers in the final 1:48. He’s no stranger to leading the team to last-minute victories, and he helped the Warriors win the game in the final 5 seconds on seven different occasions, but this is his very first game-winning buzzer-beater. The Warriors are set to host the Utah Jazz on Sunday night, after defeating them in three of their previous face-offs.
