Tyler Herro Signs Four-Year, $130 Extension with Miami Heat

Tyler Herro has proven himself as a great addition to the Miami Heat’s roster since joining the team in 2019 – and he’s here to stay! The 22-year-old NBA player signed a four-year extension with his current team, reportedly worth $130 million. According to Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang, Herro’s new deal includes $120 million guaranteed with up to $10 million in incentives. It’s a significant improvement for the young player, who’ll go from earning $5.7 million this upcoming season in the final year of his rookie deal to having an average annual salary of $30 million. Miami Heat president Pat Riley released a statement confirming Herro’s new deal and said they have high hopes for the young player after signing this extension. "Tyler is an impact multifaceted player and we are excited to have him signed for the next five years. His improvement every year since we drafted him has led to this day. We believe he will continue to get better,” said Riley. Tyler Herro joined the Heat in 2019, after being drafted as the 13th overall pick. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2020 and reached NBA Finals during his rookie season. He averaged career highs of 20.7 points and 4.0 assists last season and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
