Victor Wembanyama Scores His First Career Triple-Double Against Pistons

Victor Wembanyama entered this season with the San Antonio Spurs as one of the most promising young talents in the recent NBA history - and he’s living up to the hype! The rookie player finally scores his first career triple double in an epic win against the Detroit Pistons. The Spurs’ latest victory was definitely a team effort, and they managed to beat the Pistons 130-108 despite the fact no San Antonio player netted oover 20 points. Keldon Johnson led the way with 17 points, followed by Devin Vassell and Wembanyama with 16 each. What made Wemby’s performance so impressive was the fact that he also scored 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his first triple-double in the NBA. He pulled off this feet in just 21 minutes, for the second-fastest triple-double in NBA history, behind Russell Westbrook. “Doing it in a win is everything, of course. I didn’t know it was the second-fastest in NBA history. It matters to me. I’m not the type to talk for nothing. This is the kind of statement we want to make as a team, and this is type of statement I want to make as a player,” he told reporters post-game. Wembanyama joined the Spurs as the first overall pick this past summer, and he’s currently the tallest player in the NBA, alongside the Houston Rockets’ Boban Marjanovic.
